Part Time

ANTICIPATED STARTING DATE: FALL 2012

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

The ideal faculty candidate holds an MFA/MA degree in Interactive Media, New Media, Digital Media or Graphic Design or related field. One or more years of successful college-level teaching including courses in Flash or object-oriented programing, web-design, including Java script or jquery skills is desired.

Experience working with online delivery methods such as Blackboard, familiarity with the integration of educational technology into curriculum, overall computer literacy and awareness of current issues and pedagogical practices that have an impact on the discipline are preferred.

Applicants who do not meet the minimum qualifications as stated are encouraged to put in writing precisely how their background and experience have prepared them for the responsibilities of this position and by providing appropriate references. Exceptions to the degree requirements may be made for compelling reasons.

COMPENSATION: $1,337 to $1,447 per credit hour

Nurse Aide Instructor


Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse needed for per diem classroom and clinical instruction in our nurse aide training program.  A minimum one year of recent experience working in a long term care facility required. Experience supervising and/or teaching nursing assistants preferred. These are  temporary 6-13 week assignments, day or evening shifts and include some Saturdays.

We are expanding our adjunct applicant pool in anticipation of potential position openings in the Fall 2011 and Spring 2012 semester.

On-line and On-Ground part time day, evening and weekend instructors may be needed to teach credit courses
in the following areas:


  • Animation & Video
  • Art History
  • Biology
  • Business(on-line)
  • Chemistry
  • Computer Science
  • Criminal Justice
  • Human Services
  • Geography
 
  • Interpreting-American Sign Language/English
  • Mathematics
  • Medical Assisting
  • Psychology
  • Sociology
  • Spanish
  • Therapeutic Recreation
  • Veterinary Technology

Qualifications: You must have a Master's degree or equivalent in your subject area. Experience with on-line instruction desirable.
Experience in community college teaching and/or related work experience is preferred.
Equivalencies: Equivalent experience may be considered.
Salary: $1,335 - $1,437 per credit hour.

The following are examples of the types of part-time positions and services which may be needed in 2011-12:

Part-Time Educational Assistants -

Interpreters for the deaf; guest lecturers in various disciplines; instructors who can use web-based delivery for on-line courses; ESL & GED certified instructors; tutors

Non-Credit Instruction and Contractual Services

Instructors/project coordinators for credit and non-credit courses/workshops in areas such as management, business, computer science, computer software applications, engineering, manufacturing and plastics technologies, manufacturing, product design, ecological studies, leadership, nurses' aide training, allied health, certified motorcycle safety instructors, and experienced herbalists.
