Distance Learning

NCCC offers a wide variety of distance learning, both fully online and hybrid (a blend of online and face-to-face instruction) courses, for motivated individuals looking for some flexibility in obtaining their educational goals. These courses do not meet on specific days or times; they generally operate on weekly assignments with specific due dates. Basic computer literacy, a valid e-mail address, and access to the Internet are required, as well as specific computer equipment requirements.

Distance Learning courses have the same educational objectives and demand the same commitment of time and effort as their on-campus versions. Be sure to take the Self-Assessment (Are you ready for online learning?) to determine if Distance Learning is right for you. For more information on Distance Learning please contact Bev King at 860.738.6323 or bking@nwcc.commnet.edu

Once you have registered for an online/hybrid class you can expect to receive an email from NW Distance Learning.  The subject line will contain your Student ID (see sample letter here).  The email contains very important Getting Started information, for this reason, please be sure your current email address in on record in myCommNet.  It can be verified or modified by clicking on Student > Student Self Service > Personal Information.
